Adam Graves Biography

Adam Graves, born on April 12, 1968, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He has played ten seasons in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers. As a youth, he competed in the 1981 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Wexford, Toronto. During the 1987–88 NHL season, he played eight of the first 13 games with the Detroit Red Wings before being reassigned to the Ontario Hockey League. In the 1988–89 season, he appeared in 54 of the first 63 games and scored his first NHL goal on October 15 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He participated in thirteen games during the 1989–90 season for Detroit, recording one assist and 13 penalty minutes prior to being traded. The trade involved the Edmonton Oilers receiving him along with Petr Klima, Joe Murphy, and Jeff Sharples in exchange for Jimmy Carson, Kevin McClelland, and a fifth-round draft pick in the 1991 NHL entry draft.
