West Virginia Overview

While West Virginia does not have any professional teams, this state has two very passionate fan bases that do not like each other. Marshall and West Virginia University are the two main universities and athletic programs in the state. Although, West Virginia is small in size it is not short in talent coming from the Mountain State. Arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Jerry West is from West Virginia. He is also known for being the NBA logo still to this day. Another polarizing athlete to come from this state is Minnesota Viking and Hall of Famer Randy Moss. He took the state by storm and went on to play at Marshall where he had 28 touchdown catches in 1997 which tied the NCAA record at that time.
